Tell us a little about yourself
“I’m from Holladay, Utah, I was born and raised here, I have never lived outside of Utah actually.”
When did you start snowboarding?
“I started snowboarding at 8, but I skied my whole life, and then around 8 my brother started snowboarding and I thought that was way cooler and I had to be like my brother, so I started at 8 and from there loved it and kept doing it. I started competing around 10.”
What inspired you to pick the scent and color of your new Boad Budder wax?
“I love anything that’s related to the mountains, and I always love wildflower season up at Brighton, so I think that inspired the scent for me, and yeah, love the color purple. When we were designing it, Erik thought that it was sick, so then we just decided to run with it.”
How would you describe your wax in three words?
“In three words, I’d describe it as fast, delicious, and purple!”
What does a perfect day on the mountain look like to you?
“A perfect day on the mountain is riding with the homies on like a sunny, park lap at like, 10 AM, and it’s perfectly groomed. That’s my perfect day.”
Where is your favorite place to ride, and why?
“I love Brighton. It’s like home for me. I hadn’t had a pass for a couple years there, and then I got one last season, and it’s just so much fun. The park is always slick, the vibes are always high, and I just love the community at Brighton. It’s so much fun.”
What does making sustainable choices on the mountain mean to you?
“Making sustainable choices on the mountain means for me picking products and ingredients that have a lasting positive effect so we can keep our winters strong and keep riding. We all value our environment, and our seasons are getting shorter, and we wanna have a positive effect so that we can keep snowboarding.”
What is your spirit animal?
“I think I am a pika, or in other cases, I could just be a gerbil…I feel like I fit that too.”
What’s your favorite pizza topping?
“The controversial pineapple. I feel like I love pineapple on pizza, and…I hate ham. You have to do pineapple and pepperoni. It’s the only way to go.”
What motivates you?
“I think what motivates me most is just this desire to keep improving. It’s not necessarily contest results, or anything like that, I just love learning new tricks. And like the feeling of landing something you haven’t before, literally there’s nothing better. So I think just learning. Learning is what motivates me.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
“I bought a motorcycle this summer. And I am so excited. I went dirt biking a ton this summer, and I’m terrible. I’m not very good. But I will get better.”
